Meaningful Souvenirs

Can you believe we are well into the summer! I’m excited to have so many clients traveling to great destinations for their summer vacations, and I’m sure they’ll want to bring back great mementos of their special time. So, I have compiled a list of my favorite meaningful souvenirs that won’t end up in the trash bin.

Meaningful Souvenirs

Not to say that I don’t love a good coffee cup, t-shirt or key chain, but a lot of times those things end up in the trash or garage sale pile. So I try to be more mindful of the items that we buy to remember our vacation by. These are a few of the items I try to stick to that I know will not end up being forgotten later.

Fabric for Quilts

One of my all time favorite souvenirs we have is quilts made from fabric that we purchased in Hawaii. We bought several yards of different fabrics to bring back home. My grandmother made the quilts for us, and we love them! They are the perfect souvenir that we will cherish for many, many years to come!

Clothing + Jewelry

I don’t mean cheesy t-shirts or seashell bracelets. I mean beautiful blouses and stunning jewelry like these pieces I picked up in Maui. I didn’t spend a fortune, $20 for the top and $15 for this stunning druzy pendant. Though the top won’t last forever, this beautiful necklace will be around for years to come. Jewelry is definitely a favorite to buy as souvenirs among my clients. I recently had clients visit Mexico on a cruise where they got an amazing deal on a diamond ring, necklace, and watch. These are not only great mementos of their vacation, but also something they’ll cherish forever.

Ornaments

Although they can be sometimes kitschy, Christmas ornaments are a great option for a memorable souvenir. Each year when you decorate your Christmas tree, you’ll reminisce back on those vacation memories.
Just try to avoid going overboard like I did on our first trip to New York City, when I came home with 15+ ornaments. What can I say, I love Christmas & NYC!

Photobooks

Photobooks are amazing souvenirs for vacations. Compile your vacations photos, memories, and more to create a photobook that you and your family can cherish for years to come. I love looking back at ours, and remembering those special memories.

Art

My absolute favorite souvenir from trips is to purchase a local artist’s piece or use photographs I’ve taken to create my own  art. I print and frame the photographs as they are, or create watercolor art and print them on canvas. The art is such a special addition to our home, and make great conversation pieces.

What do you think? What souvenirs do you like to purchase while traveling? I’d love to hear your ideas as well.
