5 Reasons You Need a Kid-Free Vacation

Hey, hey from somewhere over the Caribbean Sea! My husband and I are currently headed to Saint Lucia for a long awaited vacation, just the two of us. We will spend 10 glorious days on this island paradise simply relaxing, decompressing, and enjoying one-on-one time together.

We try to make this a top priority at least once a year, and, for some reason, this trip seems especially important. Our twin three-year-olds are growing up right before our eyes, life is changing by the second, and time alone is essentially non-existent.

We didn’t have children until 5 years into our marriage (and nearly 10 years together), so we were very much accustomed to just us. Adding two kids at once has been an adjustment to say the least.

So, we do our best to take a vacation, just us two, to be just us. Do we miss the kids? You bet. But we always return better spouses to each other, better individuals, and even better parents. (Shout out to Nawni & Paw for loving on them while we are away!)

There are many other reasons we make traveling kid-free a priority, and I’ve outlined a few below. Keep reading for 5 reasons you need a vacation, just the two of you.
