Meet my latest initiative and learn about how it all got started.
If you’re new to the DWD community or if you’ve been with me for a while, I’m sure you’ve come to learn how much I believe in the power of travel. Not just in how it can open our minds and hearts, but in how it can change people’s lives, too.
Since starting my business over six years ago, I’ve been looking for ways to incorporate social impact and giving with the places I visit and send my clients to experience. Little did I know a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, would inspire me and help me find clarity on how DWD can truly help people today.

While there, I met Chris and Arturo from Pasitos de Luz, a charity in the Riviera Nayarit/Puerto Vallarta area that works with low-income families, many being single mothers that have children with disabilities. I learned about their mission, services and the lives they were changing.
That trip opened up my eyes to the power of travel.
I dive into more details about my experience here, but being exposed to those stories and initiatives changing these families’ lives inspired me to officially start DWD Gives (link to blog post), my latest initiative to incorporate social giving into my offerings and experiences. I’ve never felt more called to do something than this!
For every fee I collect and every commission I make with my services, a percentage will go into a holding account. As I go on trips to explore other destinations, I’ll continue my research in finding and connecting with nonprofits, charities, and organizations in need and use these funds to support them monetarily or to purchase supplies to donate in person.

This is just the beginning of something great. ️
Tomorrow, I’m headed out to Mexico with 6 pieces of luggage (YES, 6!) full of donations for the Te Amo Foundation! Thanks to my clients and generous family and friends, I’ve been able to collect school supplies, shoes, and more.
You can learn more about DWD Gives and how you can donate to the organizations we’ve supported so far here.
Have other organizations in mind who need our help? I’d love to hear from you. Hit ‘reply’ and let me know, or you can fill out my contact form here.
I can’t wait for what’s to come.
