Victoria, BC Trip Wrap Up

Hey there! I’m excited to wrap up our trip to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada today!

If you remember, we visited there for a quick 24-ish hour trip from Seattle, Washington. We took the Clipper Ferry passenger ferry from the U.S. to Canada, and thoroughly enjoyed the scenic boat ride. We hit the ground running when we arrived with a boat trip out to the San Juan Islands, which are actually in the U.S., for orca whale watching. We were not disappointed there! We saw puffins flying over the water, a bald eagle on guard, sea lions piled high, and orcas abound! That was one of the most amazing experiences of my life!

Once we arrived back on dry land, we popped into Nautical Nellies for a delicious dinner. Then decided we’d had a long enough day, so we settled into our hotel suite at the Chateau Victoria Hotel. Our room was amazing and we hated to leave the posh hotel the next morning, but we had another full day planned!

We started out with a scenic drive out to Butchart Gardens, and spent a beautiful morning exploring the stunning grounds. After, we made our way back into town, and found ourselves at Craigdarroch Castle. We loved touring this amazing property, and I was especially fond of the stained glass. From there, we headed towards the harbor to check out Fisherman’s Wharf where we had the most amazing shrimp, actually prawn, of my life!

We wrapped up our visit with a horse drawn carriage ride around the beautiful Parliament Building, and bit of a walk back to the ferry. All and all, we had an amazing time in Victoria, and I would love to visit again someday! It is the perfect stop for a day trip on many Alaskan cruise itineraries, so hopefully we’ll get the chance.
