The New York Public Library

Hey y’all! Hope you had a great weekend. Can you believe we already into the last week of March! That means we are already a fourth of the way done with the year! HOW!? Time just flies by. Anyway, I’m back this week to share more about New York City and the New York Public Library.

Today is another quick post about our stop at The New York Public Library. We popped by on a Sunday morning, so the library wasn’t quite open yet. So, rather than explore inside, we just took some time to browse around the building and grounds. The marble and stonework is absolutely exquisite!  Built in the early 1900s, the library’s building has many period design elements—stunning lion statues guarding the entrance, beautiful iron fountains, incredible marble work, and so much more. I can only imagine what the inside of the building looks like, perhaps on another visit I’ll have the opportunity to take a peek inside.

While I took my time taking in the entrance way, stonework, and all of the beautiful details, my travel companions were able to take a break and people watch in the courtyard. I imagine loads of people sitting at those bistro style tables reading musty smelling library books, enjoying a cup of delicious coffee, and watching the passersby on Fifth Avenue—such a dream!

Like I said, today is a quick post. So I hope you enjoyed my little account of the New York Public Library and the photos of the stunning architecture and design.

Thank you so much for stopping in. I hope you have a great rest of your Monday!
