Happy Friday! Can y’all believe how quickly the week has gone by? I hope you’ve had a great one, and have a fun and/or relaxing weekend planned. 🙂 I’m excited for today’s post on Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee.

Having gained even more popularity since the CMT show, Sun Records, Sun Studio is a must stop spot in Memphis. This very business, Sun Studio & Sun Records (both housed in this building), is the birthplace of Rock N’ Roll. Some of the most famous artists in the world made their start here, including Elvis Presley & Johnny Cash.Â

Touring the studio, you’ll hear about the beginnings of Rock N’ Roll, how Elvis recorded his first song and ended up on the radio on a whim, and see where the Million Dollar Quartet sang together. The tour beginnings just inside the door where you’re greeted with Sun Studio & Sun Records memorabilia and a cute little soda bar. Soon you’re escorted up to peruse historical artifacts about Sam Phillips’ business, building, and Rock N’ Roll. You’ll end the tour in the actual studio where so many famed music artists have recorded, and they say, if you are lucky, one just might walk in to record!Â

If you’re a fan of Rock N’ Roll, country, or even other genres of music, I highly encourage you to pay homage to where music history was made, and visit Sun Studio for a tour! Learn how Johnny Cash created his signature guitar sound, hear Elvis Presley’s very first radio interview, and step foot where so many greats have recorded. What do you think? Is Sun Studio on your Memphis itinerary?
